If you are planning on traveling to Midwest but you have already seen Chicago, been to Milwaukee, and driven by the St. Louis Arch, and you are still contemplating to escape somewhere less populated but with big city vibes, great food scene, and some of the best sport fans in the world, then look no further. Green Bay Wisconsin should be on your list of places to visit this summer!
Below, you’ll find our itinerary, including where we stayed, ate, and explored, so you can easily plan your own getaway.

Friday
Legacy Hotel
As we arrived at Green Bay on Friday evening, we checked into a beautiful modern and brand new hotel called The Legacy Hotel (part of the Trademark collection by Wyndham). The hotel is in the historic Legends District surrounded by restaurants, bars and walking distance to Packers Stadium.
Chives Restaurant
After we checked in and changed, we went to grab a dinner at Chives Restaurant.
This incredible place is located a few minutes outside of Green Bay, in a charming Suamico’s Vickery Village. Situated in a historic building that adds to the restaurant’s vibes, Chive’s offers a wide variety of menu with seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. The quality of food, from taste to presentation, was simply unbelievable: making this place a must stop when visiting.
Cardinal Crest
After dinner, we went back to Legacy Hotel and checked out their rooftop bar called the Cardinal’s Crest. With beautiful views of the city, this rooftop bar offers outdoor seating that includes firepits, wide range of handcrafted cocktails, and selected food menu that made us come back every night for a night cap: and for a good reason!
Saturday
Oakley’s
Next morning we grabbed breakfast at Oakley’s. A vibrant brunch spot that offers a wide variety of breakfast items, from classic omelets to delicious sandwiches: pair that with boozy cocktail or multiple with their Bloody Mary or Mimosa flights, to spicy up your brunch experience. Menu offers a little bit of everything for any picky eater, so we are certain there’s something for everyone.
Sabamba Alpaca Ranch
After our delicious brunch we headed to De Pere, a city right outside of Green Bay, to an alpaca ranch. If you’ve been following us for a while, one thing you know about us is that we love our animals, and there wouldn’t be a trip if we didn’t visit some sort of animal farm or sanctuary. Sabamba Alpaca Ranch is owned by Sally and her husband who went above and beyond educating us on everything that has to do with Alpacas. The passion and love for the animals can be felt as Sally speaks of her experience with these goofy but loving animals. We learned everything from their living habits, to fur, to breeding, and even what it takes to own your own Alpaca. We even got the opportunity to walk them around the ranch, which shows their true character. Sally also creates and sells Alpaca clothing from all the fur that is trimmed once a year, which is incredible. You can check out her website here. If you are in Green Bay area, this is a MUST experience!
Hinterland Brewery
After spending some time being educated on everything that has to do with Alpacas, we stopped at Hinterland Brewery for lunch. This place was incredible. It features a large dining area inside and out, with more than 20 beers on tap, and offers dishes created daily based on availability of fresh produce and meat. This creates unique experience each time you go visit. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious. It was difficult not to stare!
Ledgestone Winery
After a quick lunch, we headed to Ledgestone Vineyard to taste some of their delicious wine. Guess what: this place was not disappoint! We tried all their dry white and red wines while relaxing on their beautiful open outdoor patio and even ended up taking couple of bottles home. Although we came to try their wine, we saw what came out of the kitchen. If we weren’t so full after our lunch, we would definitely try something here: it all looked super yummy.

Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary
Next, to walk off some of the wine, we went to explore Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. This beautiful 535-acre wildlife refuge blew us out of the water. It was simply something we did not expect. This place offers miles of trails and wildlife viewing from live animal exhibits to educational displays. It is the largest wildlife rehabilitation program in Wisconsin that cares for more than 6500 orphaned and injured animals annually. We got to see a beautiful human being bring baby racoons, that he saved due to a cruel accident that happened to their mother. These people have hearts of gold, so a visit here is a must if you love animals and want to help this place continue to grow.
Orsetta
After the needed walk around the sanctuary, we went back to the room to refresh and got ready for dinner at Orsetta. This Italian cuisine was short of ordinary . From modern decor to incredible dishes and cocktails, this place left an amazing impression on us, wanting to come back for more. The seating is very limited, so please book your reservation in advance.
Ghost Tour
After delicious dinner at Orsetta, what a better way to spend your time, than walking around the city and hearing its history from Green Bay Ghost Tour. That’s right, a ghost tour! Not only did we get to hear about the city’s history but we also got the opportunity to explore some of those buildings inside with an EMP detector. Our tour guide Tim did a fantastic job keeping the spirits light, get it? 😊 ... Not only was he dressed for the part, but he made sure to keep thing interesting and fun even in the most dark alleyways. Unfortunately, Tim was too good at keeping the spirits away as we weren’t lucky enough to experience anything paranormal but that gives us another reason to come back.

Sunday
The Creamery
On Sunday, after our eventful Saturday, we began our day by grabbing breakfast at The Creamery. A local breakfast joint that serves hearty breakfast classics to delicious brunch dishes as well as those craving something more on a sweeter side. Their stuffed french toasts were incredible and hard to omit. I would skip my entire meal just to go and have some more.

Green Bay Botanical Gardens
After our filling breakfast it would only make sense to burn off some of the calories, and what better way to do so than by taking a walk through the beautiful Green Bay Botanical Gardens. This could not have been the most perfect time to do so, as everything was in full bloom. You were able to see those beautiful colorful flowers from nearly any direction. We strongly recommend taking a stroll through the gardens.
Segway The Fox Tour
To wrap up our weekend in Green Bay, we did our very first Segway tour. This was one of the coolest ways to explore a city, other than your traditional bike. Nick, our tour guide, did a fantastic job teaching us how to use those things and before we knew it, we were on our way. From the lake to the city limits, we seen it all. The entire tour took about 1.5 hrs. Nick did an incredible job showcasing the city and its history. They also do these tours in Door County and other places in Wisconsin. For full list of places be sure to check out their website.

If you were thinking or even considering going to Green Bay this summer or fall, but had any doubts, hopefully we helped you solidify your plans and convinced you to visit this great city.
