Start your day at @BerryViewOrchard for 🍎apple picking and delicious donuts. During fall they also have pumpkins for purchase. Really cute farm!

Check out their downtown and 🛍️stop at @whitepine_mercantile for home decor to add to your collection. Their fall accessories were super unique, and we didn’t leave empty handed.

Refuel at Village Bakery in a cozy vibe with yummy pastries 🥮🥐and coffee to warm you up on a cooler day.

Lowden State Park is not to be missed. There is plenty of biking 🚴 and hiking 🥾 trails, but one thing to check out is the amazing Black Hawk statue, a 48-foot sculpture overlooking the Rock River.

If you are lucky, you can see 🦬bison at @Nachusa Grasslands. The park is in such a serene setting that if you get to see bison, it’s just the cherry on top. Not too busy, so you can truly enjoy it.

Dinner at Jay’s Drive In 🍔🍟was just what we needed in a retro setting. Unfortunately, they have closed for the season and will reopen in the Spring. But in the meantime, check out one of the many other restaurants in downtown Oregon.

After a cancelled ✈️flight, having to rebook everything, our trip turned out better than expected 🥰🥰🥰
(Shout out to all hotels that didn’t charge us to move our dates around and accommodate us!)

Here are some tips for having a successful trip while in Iceland 🇮🇸
❤️ Don’t speed! There are a ton of speeding cameras all around the country (when you least expect them). In case you forgot, Kam got a $800 ticket last time so we learned the hard way 🫣
❤️ Dining out can be pricey, highly recommend stacking up on snacks and make sandwiches everyday if possible to save a bit.
❤️ Some roads are only for a 4x4 car and certain roads are not covered by insurance especially if you are crossing rivers. Do your research!
❤️ Most gas stations are self serve but you can use credit card to pay
❤️ Iceland is VERY unpredictable, pack waterproof gear and you will thank me 😜
❤️ Don’t walk on moss! It takes centuries to grow. If there is a sign to stay on trail, STAY ON TRAIL
❤️ South Iceland tends to have a ton of tourists as it’s close to capital. If you have time, explore the whole country not just Southern region.
❤️ You don’t need cash if you have a credit card. We used our Chase Sapphire to avoid international fees
❤️ English is spoken by most people!

🛶 Kayaking around Island Park is such a serene experience to get a quick workout but also enjoy the nature. Rent kayaks as right then and there starting at $10 an hour

🥞 Breakfast is a must at Connie’s Cafe @conniescafe_michigan ! Loved the homey atmosphere here and the gorgeous gardens in the back are perfect for a stroll after eating. Order the giant cinnamon roll!

🎨 Alpena is full of beautiful and unique murals, so definitely take the time to walk around the city and use them as a fun photo opp.

🏴‍☠️ Who knew there were so many shipwrecks in Lake Huron?! Go on a tour with @alpenashipwreckstours to get super close to them and find out why there are so many in this area!

🥾 @dunbarcavestatepark is one of a kind park that offers trails and also a stunning cave. Unfortunately as of right now the tours of the cave are impossible due to flooding, however fingers crossed they open soon! You can still view it the way we did.

☕️ @theamsterdamlocal is the perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. They offer delicious dishes made from local and fresh ingredients along with house made coffee that will get your day going. Highly recommend the avocado toast!

🛶 @fyb_clarksville is the spot if you are looking to kayak or rent floats on the Red River. The water is super calm in a very jungle-like forest that makes for the best ride.

🙃@rivercityclay is such a fun stop if you are wanting to learn something new such as pottery. Our instructor Rebecca was phenomenal and we had an amazing time even though our bowls may have not came out as beautiful as we would have liked :D

🏠 @thetanglewoodhouse is a unique wedding venue in the woods, but is also starting to offer (later in the year) extended stay. It will not operate like a airbnb or a hotel, so definitely contact them if you are interested, especially if you plan to have a wedding here

🎸 @oldglorydistillingco is a perfect spot to do a distillery tour, grab yummy food, or just hang out outdoors and listen to live music. Such fun vibes and plenty to do, so certainly worth a visit.

🚖 @reoldmuseum offers one of the best and well kept collections of cars and memorabilia. Given Michigan’s rich history in the automotive industry, this is a great stop to learn a bit more about it.

🧑‍🌾 @horrocksfarmmarket is Lansing’s premier destination for fresh produce and a unique shopping experience. Additionally it has live music, on-site food truck and a beer garden. Simply put: it has it all!
